Remember my post Startup Conference Guide – Get The Most Of The Events You Attend? I recently gave a follow-up presentation on the same topic at HackFwd‘s Build 1.0 event in Berlin. I called it “Geek’s Guide to Networking” and I talked about my 5 rules of networking at events for geeks / startups. These are:
- Choose the events wisely
- Set your goals
- Do your research
- Know your pitches
- Follow up!
Sounds easy, though most startups I know did not follow most of these rules at recent events I attended.
If you’re planning to go to a tech event and you’re a startups CEO or planning to be one, it won’t do you much harm to watch this 10-minute long talk:
Hope you enjoy it!
PS. I’m going to be mentoring at Startup Weekend Warsaw this weekend so expect some coverage on this blog soon!
